The A/V team at HCA serves behind-the-scenes, enhancing our Sunday morning services by encouraging robust participation through sound, slides, and livestream.

We think of the sound board as our instrument, enhancing the ministries of those on stage. The slides you see on stage screens encourage both those attending in person and those watching online connect with the music and sermon. The livestream is our way to ensure people have the opportunity to worship and hear the Word despite family illness, travel, or other things that prevent them from being with us in person.

Here’s how you can serve on a Sunday morning if you join the A/V team:

SLIDES:

• set up the soundboard.
• optimize sound for the band and the livestream.
• continually listen and adjust sound balance to enhance the Sunday morning experience.

SOUND:

• set up “propresenter” with song lyrics, countdowns, and sermon slides.
• review song slides during band practice and sermon slides with the preacher before Sunday.
• actively listen during Sunday’s service to advance slides when needed.

LIVESTREAM:

• set up the livestream before the service begins.
• monitor and manage camera operation during the service.
• manage video and audio archive after the service.

If you attend HCA regularly and can commit to coming to church early, please fill out the form at the bottom of this page to learn more about serving with the A/V team. Previous experience is a bonus, but not necessary if you are willing to learn with us.

At HCA, we love our littlest ones! The nursery and children’s program volunteers provide a safe, welcoming, and fun space for children to play while their favorite adults enjoy the Sunday Service. The nursery welcomes babies and toddlers under the age of 3. The children’s program includes three classes: Preschool (ages 3-Kindergarten), Younger Kids (Grades 1-3), and Older Kids (Grades 4-6). 

To serve as a nursery or children’s program volunteer, you can expect to:

• undergo a background check.
• familiarize yourself with HCA’s emergency preparedness plans and materials.
• show up to church 15-30 minutes early to prepare the room. Children’s program volunteers also prepare a lesson ahead of time.
• actively engage with all children during the entirety of the Sunday service.
• clean up the classroom afterwards.

If you would like to volunteer in our children’s ministry, attend HCA regularly, and can commit to coming to church early to serve, please contact us to learn more about serving. We’d love to have you join us!

We want everyone to feel welcomed and experience the hospitality of the family of God. Our greeting team warmly greets visitors at the door and shows guests around the building. They also prepare the coffee and refreshments, and introduce the start of the church service with announcements and Scripture reading.

To serve as a volunteer on the greeting team, you can expect to:

• have committed to making HCA your church home.
• attend HCA regularly.
• arrive 45 minutes early to set up the refreshments, signs, and handicap ramps.
• greet people as they arrive and introduce guests to others in the church.
• be familiar with the announcements and Scripture prior to giving them on stage.
• sit in the back of the meeting to welcome anyone arriving late.
• clean up the refreshments, signs, and handicap ramps after church.

We love our teens at HCA! It’s important that this age group feels like a part of the overall church family while also receiving their particular spiritual and life-stage needs. Our junior high and high school youth gatherings include studying God’s Word, eating good food, and having fun together.

To serve as a youth volunteer, you can expect to:

• undergo a background check.
• attend HCA regularly.
• have a desire to spend time with and assist in teaching God’s Word to teens.
• prepare and lead, or support, a 15-20 minute Bible lesson and activity.

Our women's ministry at Hilliard Christian Assembly cultivates our women’s relationships with God, supports spiritual growth, and develops life-long followers of Jesus through discipleship resources and opportunities.  

At HCA, you will build connections and advance relationships through small group Bible studies, special events, and community outreach – all while keeping your eyes focused on what matters most…Jesus!

You can get involved by:

• participating or leading a discipleship group.
• attending or planning women’s ministry events.
• designing announcements and social media graphics.

At HCA, our worship band shares the Gospel message through a blend of modern music and hymns while enhancing the Sunday morning message by leading the congregation in corporate worship. 

You are encouraged to sing along with us on Sunday mornings as we worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). 

 The worship team is looking for those who:

• have committed to making HCA your church home.
• attend HCA regularly.
• have some level of musical ability (beginners are welcome!) with drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, and vocalists. We are also open to new instruments!
• can commit to attending two practices during the week you serve.
